WVS Care for Dogs is a registered animal welfare charity and a part of Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), an international NGO that works to improve the welfare of animals all over the world. WVS works in over sixty countries worldwide and has three International Training Centers, in Thailand, India and Malawi.
WVS International Training Center (ITC) Thailand in Hang Dong, Chiang Mai, is set up to provide training courses for Thai veterinarians, veterinary assistants, animal handlers and Animal Birth Control- program managers. The training courses focus on low-resource and shelter medicine and canine and feline spay and neuter surgery, including anesthesia. The emphasis is on golden standard of field surgery and anesthesia and on improving the participant's understanding of the welfare of free-roaming dog populations and how to improve it. We also have frequent visits from foreign vet specialists teaching topics such as orthopedics, anesthesia and diagnostic imaging.
In addition, WVS Care for Dogs runs a dog shelter and a rescue clinic for ownerless dogs and dogs from low-income families.
We are looking for enthusiastic veterinarians to join our international team of 3 veterinarians and over 20 supporting staff. Willingness to work as a part of a team, good communication skills and passion for self-development in the field of veterinary medicine and animal welfare are essential.
